Missed Everything Everything at Glasto this year but fortunately we just received an absolutely brilliant new remix by Clock Opera aka Guy Connelly.
Whilst the original is fantastic, this version has a slightly more stable rhythm and adds an electro punch that’s just what the doctor ordered.

To Infinity And Beyond…
It’s a shame we haven’t had more football related content in the run up to the World Cup but we’ve been busy placing our bets on who will win the group games, perhaps we’ve missed a trick here or there.
Nonetheless here is another remix from Bachelors of Science and we like it. A lot.

It’s all about good visuals, both in videos and images, for a band. We all know the typical shot of a band on MySpace and it’s just shite.
The original track is wicked, very quirky and all over the place yet you don’t feel lost or dizzy at any point.

Finally In Love?
We’re not big fans of modern-day cheesy R&B although Usher’s Confessions is an exception and sits safely in our music collection. Give us Nat King Cole (above) or Otis Redding over Chris Brown any day!
The labels however have realised that they need remixes to gain some extra online presence and if the usual R&B stuff is refixed and reworked, it’s been known for Mahogany HQ to be quite susceptible.
We featured Mclean before when Maximus/Baxter laid down their remix of My Name and now another big package of remixes have arrived in conjunction with his latest single, Finally In Love.
Here are our picks from the bunch. The first of which has got a really nice old school garage vibe to it, whilst the second is a typical dubstep remix and the third is just pure unadulterated club cheese.

99 Mash-ups…
We’re a champion of Jay-Z mash-ups and there have been some shit hot ones since The Black Album (our favourite) was released.
It seems his tempo was just right to blend and mix songs from bands we had never expected. The Verve, Oasis, Fela Kuti and even Radiohead were interwoven and within these collections were some gems but also some absolute tripe.
So at Mahogany HQ, we’ve adopted the mentality of ‘the-more-the-merrier’ and we can all decide which ones actually cut the mustard.
This one, we believe, cuts the Colman’s or the French’s (depending on which you prefer!).
