Ever since Mark Ronson remixed Miike Snow’s Animal, he’s been on our ‘good books’ radar.

That’s not to say that he wasn’t a stand-out producer before because he’s got a seriously impressive CV but it simply wasn’t on our playlist until we heard the delights that the remix had to offer.

So we got all excited when we first heard the leak of the upcoming single Bang Bang Bang (featuring Q-Tip) and it’s fair to say we’re genuinely hyped up over the next album.

Now, Intel and Vice have recently teamed up to form a new media channel called The Creators Project and they’ve just updated it with an interview with Ronson and who plays some upcoming tracks and he gives a little sneak peak into his New York studio.

Really liking the new single from Bearcraft out last week.

The core backbeat and retro finish is something that got our Mahogany heads nodding this morning despite the video which probably cost a tenner!

It’s only  a couple weeks since we featured new material from our favourite Reggae boy from North London and it looks like Natty’s eager for us to hear more of his recent stints in the studio.

The title hints at a possibly gritty tale of London however it’s light-hearted. We wanted gritty!

Still decent song and look forward to the bigger sounds from the upcoming album.

Essex isn’t particularly well known for it’s music scene. All I can think of, off the top of my head is David Essex and that’s not something I say proudly. Blame late night drives home with Heart FM on!

To be honest, the only band that I know to be breaking out of the stereotypically ‘chavvy’ region is Cat House (formerly Captain Kidd) who are as far from ‘chavvy’ as possible.

This is one of the bands that I really, really want to break through and I think the sound and ambition is all there already. As a live band they possess immense energy and breathe life into the dingiest of venues.

They’re receiving a lot of positive love from the BBC (check out their live performance from T in the Park below) and we’re massive supporters of them!

It’s a beautifully sunny day in London and one of the songs that dropped into our wooden inbox last night has put a swing in my step as I get ready to head to the nearest beer garden.

It’s incredibly polished (almost too much so) but Sugarcane by Chris Nathan has really nice soul roots and reminds me a little of Jamie Lidell.

It’s not actually Day 2 at SXSW as I’ve been here since Monday but with the music officially starting yesterday – it is officially day 2 in Austin and I’ve been trying to eat something vaguely healthy but it’s impossible!

Miike Snow were plagued by some sound difficulties last night but Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings were on top form. Casiokids played in a small car park which was my highlight so far and tonight is filled with more musical goodness.

Neither Kela or Tempah are playing the festival but the title of the song is a good reflection on my booze consumption.
