Catching a succession of green lights whilst driving or getting the last seat on a packed out train results in big smiles across our faces. In some cases however, a stand-out remix can lead to the biggest smile of all.

Whilst it’s quieter in the Miike Snow camp after the success of their debut album and the insane tour schedule that followed, things just got a bit louder with the latest Bitrok bootleg.

We haven’t featured old Georgie boy for a while, nor have we heard any decent remixes of the first single from the rap and reggae legends – so when he got in touch with a spanking new remix, we had a big smile on our face.

This one’s moving away from the filthy dubstep that he’s well known for and into something a bit more dancefloor.

Night night.

I’ve never been to Ibiza and but it is on my ever-growing ‘Do Before I’m 30′ list however the horror stories of £8 bottles of beer never cease to scare me. I’m also not massively into trance music however a little bootleg that we just received has got us wanting to book a ticket and head down there tonight.

We’re not huge fans of Paul Oakenfold but this remix by Azati and Big Al is a big summer dance tune.

We’re not big fans of modern-day cheesy R&B although Usher’s Confessions is an exception and sits safely in our music collection. Give us Nat King Cole (above) or Otis Redding over Chris Brown any day!

The labels however have realised that they need remixes to gain some extra online presence and if the usual R&B stuff is refixed and reworked, it’s been known for Mahogany HQ to be quite susceptible.

We featured Mclean before when Maximus/Baxter laid down their remix of My Name and now another big package of remixes have arrived in conjunction with his latest single, Finally In Love.

Here are our picks from the bunch. The first of which has got a really nice old school garage vibe to it, whilst the second is a typical dubstep remix and the third is just pure unadulterated club cheese.

The original was a punch in the face and we all hold our breath for the eagerly anticipated The Boxer LP to be released.

No suprise then that we’ve got a Tenderoni remix – this particular one is from Larry Tee and Beckwith and we like it. A lot.

We’re quite suprised that it hasn’t yet kicked off big time for Rox. It was about time we had a bit of change in the charts and although the last single was pretty run-of-the-mill stuff, she injects a bit of fresh flavour into the charts which are laden with the typical Darulo’s, Bieber’s and Burke’s.

Anyway if it’s not all kicking off in the Top 40 Chart dept. there have been some stellar remixes this year which have gained some good traction online.

The first single, My Baby Left Me, employed the likes of DC Breaks and Arms for some ‘street-level’ credibility and this time we have Landlord and Don Diablo who both do a great job -- both are different and tasty.
