M.I.A is a controversial artist, and its clearly been an intentional choice on her part to establish herself in those terms. Her live shows are a sometimes shaky affair, but all three of her albums have been pretty compelling musically with a truly global influence in the melodies and beats she brings together.

She’s just released the video for her new track ‘Bad Girls’. Its the usual mix of pop-political imagery and big beats – but its got hit written all over it. Have a look and decide for yourself.

Good news if you like your pop music with a new-wave electro slant. Electro-post-rock outfit Errors have returned with their third studio album ‘Have Some Faith In Magic’ and its a noisy and exciting affair.

The video below for new single ‘Pleasure Palaces’ is a bit of an 8-bit assault on the eyes, but the band’s sound more than makes up for it. Waves of 80′s inspired synth, and hints of post-punk experimentalism, Error’s have now started to incorporate vocals into their music and it sounds great.

We’re more familiar with Plastic Plates’ many top tiered pop/dance/disco remixes but it seems his schedule has free’d up enough time for the Australian to get to work on some original productions and ‘Toys’ is to the first.

It’s very much in the same vein as the remixes when it comes to style and form, but it’s nice to hear an air of complete artistic freedom in this one.

New video by The Bullitts featuring Rosario Dawson in Central London is just perfect.

Can’t help but laugh out loud to this one.

Scuba – aka Paul Rose, aka SCB, aka boss man at Hotflush recordings – first came on to our radar in early 2007 with a track called ‘Harpoon’. Back then Scuba’s sound sat squarely in the underground dubstep scene, but stood out from the rest with an impenetrable moody depth, more subtle use of bass and wave after wave of unearthly melody.

Scuba has always had a unique sound capable of sending you into spiralling thought with just a few beats. As a producer his earlier work resulted in a string of pioneering dubstep productions, and a clutch of brilliant remixes such as his epic eerie reworking of Fever Ray’s ‘When I Grow Up’.

In more recent years, Scuba’s sound has taken on more influences from the wider electronic music scene around him. Under his monika SCB, Scuba has released some compelling techno driven house tracks that shake off the more melancholy introspective mood of his earlier work. 2011′s ‘Loss’ is a driving track that shows off an increasingly dance floor orientated style in his music.

‘Adrenalin’, released towards the end of 2011, is a natural progression for a producer clearly influenced by the ever merging worlds of dubstep, house, techno and garage. Scuba’s range as a DJ and producer is an evolving one, and it will be interesting to see what the next release from this versatile producer will deliver.

Scuba’s 3rd LP ‘Personality’ is out this year, with the first single ‘The Hope’ out on the 6th Feb.

It’s likely that worldwide superstar songstress Adele never has to make another album from a financial point-of-view but we hope she becomes a modern day Aretha Franklin and an act we hear new material from for decades to come.

If she does decide the stop however, ‘new’ material will never stop when it comes to edits, reworks and remixes.

Chicago’s Lektro is a fine example.

French electronic production duo Elie and Theo aka Keadz just dropped their remix of Alex Winston’s Sister Wife. It’s a chilled one with cosmic hints and some Daft notes in, top it with Alex’s cute vocals and the waves swashing toward the end and you’re onto a winner.

I wasn’t even born at the height of Bryan Ferry’s career so it was until his performance on Jools Holland in 2010 that I really got a taste for the gent, and I liked it!
