Rox Your Sox Off

Posted on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Drum and Bass, Remixes, Video

There are almost too many young London starlets with a voice nowadays and very few manage to catch my ears because they’ve all got synths and their album covers apply far too much photoshopped neon lights for my liking.

Roxanne Tataei aka Rox is one of Rough Trade’s priorities for 2010 and I have a feeling that she’s destined for greatness. Considering RT rarely opt for a commercially pop-fused artist (Rox is however more toward modern soul) so it shows they’re taking her very seriously.

Her single, My Baby Left Me, is out on March 15th and what better way to wet the pallet than a few remixes. One of which is from Drum & Bass favourites DC Breaks.

Delicious.

Stay Too Long

Posted on Monday, December 21, 2009 in Drum and Bass, Remixes, Video

It’s been a great year for Plan B.

He acted alongside the legendary Michael Caine in the film Harry Brown and featured in the Chase & Status produced track End Credits.

His latest single, Stay Too Long, has been given the remix treatment by Pendulum and it seems they like it so much that they’ve specially edited the music video to make way for it.

This track definitely packs a punch and the video’s great.

Get Plugged In!

Posted on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in Drum and Bass, Remixes

We’ll start with a new guy in town. Rollz. Quite literally stumbled upon this track last night – it was one of Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ tracks and thats incredibly impressive for a relatively unknown producer.

Rollz – Plugged Indownload

Rollz delivers a dirty high energy tune that further enforces the steady return of underground Drum and Bass back into the mainstream.

Nero – Do You Wannadownload

It wasn’t long ago since we put up Nero’s incredible remix of the new DJ Fresh tune but now they’ve released a track of their own and it’s getting airplay in all the right places.

Calvin Harris – Flashback (Goldie Remix)

Stepping into the commercial realms of dance – Calvin Harris’s new album has a few tracks which I like but I’m happy that the old school big boys are getting their hands on his music. Goldie lays down a drum and bass rendition of the new single with a nice bassline inside it.

If anyone knows anything more about Rollz – drop us a line!

Nero ‘Knocks’ Out Another Remix!

Posted on Thursday, November 12, 2009 in Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Remixes

The new brand new DJ Fresh tune has been given the ultimate reworking by Nero!

After moving into a brand spanking new studio (opposite Chase & Status!) the guys are now living and breathing music on a daily basis and producing new stuff like this.

This one isn’t as heavy as some of their other remixes -- but it’s my favourite so far.

DJ Fresh got a nice HD cam for the official music video. Enjoy.

Brand New Chase & Status

Posted on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Drum and Bass

Earlier in the week I made it down to see Chase & Status at Brixton Academy and I didn’t realise how powerful some of their music really is. They delivered an epic live show and played the new single featuring regular collaborator and friend Plan B.

The new single, End Credits, will feature in the soundtrack of the new Michael Caine film ‘Harry Brown‘ which also features Plan B aka Ben Drew in a supporting role.

The film looks good from the clips in the music video but anything with Michael Caine brandishing a gun is going to be good isn’t it?

The single is available to buy from November 1st with the film following later in the month.

Quick Update – Byrds of Prey (DC Breaks Remix)

Posted on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Drum and Bass, Remixes

Just yesterday we featured the DC Breaks remix of Bertie Blackman’s new single however it was a radio rip so although it’s an epic track – you really need to hear it at the highest audio quality and without Annie Mac speaking over it.

Here it is!
