Keeping on the same, dreamy path as our last two posts -- we’ve now got two more delightful tracks to give away for free today by the Paris-based trio SayCet.
Their atmospheric and melancholic sounds are helping ease our stressful work-packed week and hopefully, yours too.

Silje Nes
Norway’s Silje Nes is giving the opening track to her upcoming album away for free this month in the run up to it’s release.
It’s a delicate, detailed and intricate arrangement and her vocals add a lovely light atmosphere which is just lovely.

The Mahogany Sessions // Chief

For us, Chief are one of the most exciting bands to emerge over the past year or so. They’re the latest Domino Records signing and definitely a big priority for the Autumn and beyond.
With Santa Monica as their hometown, Chief are representing the true musical roots of the sunshine state -- no Botox involved.
The sun was shining during our session with them at Lounge on the Farm festival earlier in the summer and they performed two outstanding unplugged renditions from their upcoming album, Modern Rituals.
Chief -- Mighty Proud
Chief -- Night and Day
World News

Pick up any newspaper in the world and the chances are it’s generally bad news -- World News by Local Natives on the other hand is definitely a tad brighter.
We love a bit of Local Natives here at Mahogany and The Soundmen are clearly also fans. They just sent us their latest reworking and it’s helped shape the start of our week.
Have a listen and see what you think.

White Russia
I sometimes like to compare The Mahogany Blog to a butchers, a very picky butchers at that. We’re lucky enough to be on the receiving end of some great music from around the world and we wait patiently for the choice cuts to come into us.
That may mean that a few days go past with no posts and that’s simply because we don’t post anything that doesn’t make our ears or eyes twitch.
Today, one such artist defines ‘choice cut’ and has got us writing frantically to get it out to you.
The band biog describes the sound better than we could so…
White Russia are an alternative/electronic act from South London building a strong reputation for their colossal live sound. Marina Elderton’s hauntingly beautiful voice sits perfectly over the harsh industrial sounds from producer Benjamin Bufton. Drawing these organic and mechanical elements together, White Russia create an immersive and evocative atmosphere through their music. Taking influence from acts such as Bjork, Depeche Mode and Placebo, things are really picking up speed for this unique act.
Their latest masterpiece is O’ Jerusalem is a whole 9-minutes of constructive beauty and we’re lucky enough to be able to stream that track to you today.
