The first time I heard LA based vocalist BANKS was on a track by producer Lil Silva called ‘Work’, a hard bass beat softened by the soul and depth of the vocal Bank’s offered up to the track. I was impressed. That was last month. This week she’s released ‘Before I Ever Met You’ and the soul-baring punch of her lyrics seems to be a natural talent, although this track has a darker more trip-hop sound with a dash of a pop sensibility too.
