The nominations for this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize are surely causing sleepless nights for the committee panel, as the overall calibre of music is just so high.
Amongst the nominations is Ben Howard’s debut LP Every Kingdom, which is an album that has shaped my 2012 from a musical perspective, and although I think Alt-J may grab the coveted award, Ben’s album deserves every single bit of praise it receives.
This month the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year Live’ is taking place at LSO Luke’s in London with joint headliners Ben Howard and Roller Trio to help raise money for War Child, supporting the fantastic work they do assisting children affected by conflict around the world, and we have some pairs of tickets to giveaway for the show on the 17th October.
