Apparently one of the ‘buzz’ bands from SXSW this year was a group from Minneapolis called Polica. I’ve only just had time to sit down and listen to the album, but I can definitely see how they made waves. Polica have a low-fi RnB indie sound that shimmers and soars, and the lead singer Channy Leanagh’s ghost-like voice is just beautiful
Personal favourite tracks are ‘Darkstar’ and ‘Let Your Cards Out’, but the selection from the album below should give you a good taster. I recommend you go and fall in love with this, right now.
