Singer Bo Saris is already a pretty big name in his native Holland, but here in the UK his brand of breezy soul music is less well known. I hadn’t heard anything he had produced until earlier this week. ‘She’s On Fire’ is a cover of an overlooked Marvin Gaye record, and the inspiration of legendary soul singers like Marvin has been formative in Bo’s vocal style.
The original vocal is playfully delivered and shot through with summer lust. But we’ve also posted the remix from Maya Jane Coles – its a moody house reworking of the track where the summer lust of the original seems a lot more out of control…
