Now those two 4 day weeks are a distant memory and we are back to the daily grind, we want to ease you into your Monday morning with a beautiful video for ‘Ho Hey’ by USA trio The Lumineers. This is a beautiful indie track, with a good smattering of folky vibes thrown into the mix – a perfect feel-good song to brush away those beginning of the week blues.

Next up we have a stirring performance from the recent Coachella festival in Palm Springs. Explosions In The Sky are a band that I have seen live many times, and each time I am always struck by the intensity of their performance. All instrumental, the bands often lengthy tracks are journeys – in this case starting heavy and raw and breaking down into beautiful melody. Listening to this in the desert evening must have been a real experience.

New Zealand electro popstar Ladyhawke has been off the scene for a while, but has recently been releasing some new material and is starting her UK tour this week (for dates see here). Here is a rather awesome remix of her new track Sunday Drive by Gigamesh.

Finally, Django Django’s latest album is one that we at Mahogany have been dipping in and out of over the last few months – but this remix of the their track ‘Default’ by Walls is a real stand out. A perfect hypnotic psychedelic piece of indie-electronica to get you revved up for Monday morning. Have a great day folks.
