If you like the grit and raw talent of vocalists like PJ Harvey, then the dark stirring music created by North London’s Nadine Shah will be perfect listening. I’ve seen Nadine perform live and she is an impressively intense performer, channelling rage and something tender in the same breath.

2012 sees the release of her album ‘Love Your Dum And Mad’, and to celebrate the release (and Valentine’s day) we have an incredible cover of Patti Smith’s ‘Because The Night’. Stripped back to basics and recorded on her laptop, its an incredible intro to Nadine’s remarkable voice.
