A lot’s happened in the world over the week, so it’s only right we start this edition of the Monday Digest with a tribute to Whitney Houston. Shortly after her passing hit the newswaves, Penguin Prison released a cover and hearing her music through others demonstrates that an artist as amazing as her will never fade away…
Now, whilst you’re probably knee deep in things to do, this full concert performance from the late singer in South Africa back in 1994 is worth every second!
We’re going to head over to AIR studios in London now, where Bon Iver and S. Carey recently performed a few tracks for their US and UK label counterparts (4AD and Jajaguar). The studio in Hampstead is a huge converted church with some of the best sound output in the world and this performance is ridiculously sublime!
What better way to start the week than with a new artist and Jogging House is currently creating some amazing lo-fi instrumental sounds from his base in Frankfurt in Germany. He describes his music as ‘synthesizers and samples drowned in delay and reverb. All spiced up with some 80s nostalgia for your headphone pleasure’ and this track is a great example of that. All his LPs are free to download via his bandcamp page.
