M83 – Midnight City

M83′s new track Midnight City, along with the music video released on YouTube last night are both absolute triumphs.
I’m a big M83 fan and can’t wait to the new album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ which drops this week and this bit of promo has gone wonders for wetting my appetite (and thousands of others worldwide).
The video about a group of orphaned children with superhero powers was directed by Fleur & Manu.
I smell awards.

Roll For The Sun
It may be October, but the sunshine is glorious today and if you whack Roll For The Sun on by Courts, it almost feels like it’s summer again.
The boys hail from Essex and whilst it’s still very early days for them, their blend of indie, hip hop, and a little grime is setting them up to reinvigorate the ‘lad band’ which has been completely destroyed by the likes of The Enemy, Hard-fi, etc.
The music video along with the Klassik remix are out now so check both out below.

Patrick Wolf (Free Download)

Gonna drop this one really quickly before heading out to Jack Daniels’ Distillery (see earlier post).
Garcon Garcon’s latest remix of one of Wolf’s best loved live tracks is available as a free download below and it’s doing the rounds in my hotel room in Nashville this morning.

Elephant

Absolutely thrilled with the 3 minutes and 25 seconds of music just provided by one-part French and one-part British pair Elephant.
Assembly comes from their upcoming debut EP of the same name and their about to support Casiokids on their UK tour which will be an absolutely brilliant night of music.
Assembly is absolutely beautiful and look out for the full EP on the 14th November.

Still Corners – Creatures of an Hour

London’s Still Corners are a four piece started by duo Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray. There are plenty of bands making ethereal low-fi pop music at the moment, but the debut LP from Still Corner’s – Creatures of an Hour – is more shimmering and dreamlike than most.
The whispered vocals from Tessa make this melodic indie album feel intimate and hazy, even when backed by jangling guitar riffs and echoing keyboards. However the biggest strength of this LP is the song-writing. This is an album of retro-tinged pop songs – pretty, atmospheric and very well delivered.
Still Corners – Cuckoo
The album is available to stream in full below and we’re talking to the band about a Mahogany Session, stay tuned…
Azelia Banks!
Keep an eye out for this chick.
Big.

Tiger Dreams

Karin Park’s vocals ring very similar bells to that of Karin Dreijer (The Knife, Fever Ray) and Photek’s just created a tidy edit of the track Tiger Dreams. Annie Mac picked up on it and it’s available to download for via below or via her personal SoundCloud page.
The edit progresses nicely and picks up on the bass half-way through.
