Introducing… Paul Thomas Saunders
Paul Thomas Saunders – Appointment in Samarra
Miike Snow. Back in the studio.

Over the past 4 years or so there have only been a handful of albums that I can say really impacted me. Properly that is.

Miike Snow’s self-titled debut was one of them and their return to Twitter (@MiikeSnow) last month revealed that they’re back in the studio working on album number 2.
As well as that, it looks like they’ll probably be releasing it through INGRID, their new label.
We’re all very excited to hear any new material and if you get wind of anything drop us a line at mahoganyblog@gmail.com!

LOFT Lineup 2011 // Still Corners
We’re returning to Lounge on the Farm festival again this year (much more on that soon!) so now begins the process of finding out as much we can about everyone on the fantastic lineup.
With 3am edging over closer on the clock earlier this morning, the laptop was almost retired for the night but fortunately Still Corners managed to extend the festival research. They had one track to impress before hitting the deck and oh boy did they do just that.
Information on the band (signed to Sub Pop) is limited. The website and Facebook pages don’t list a bio but who cares for now, let’s just lament in their delicately dreamy sound.
Still Corners – Cuckoo
Still Corners – Wish
Ben Westbeech (2 Bears Remix)
When the 2 Bears aren’t rummaging the woods for honey or happy campers, they’re in the studio pumping out some delicious beats and their remix of Ben Westbeech’s Falling is rather good.
Along with the track we’ve also got the video for their latest original track, aptly named Bear Hug, and the Westbeech original in case you’ve yet to hear it.

Wish Your Hear #3 – John Butler Trio
13 minutes from Australia’s John Butler Trio and one of the greatest solo guitar songs I’ve ever heard.

Rhythm Of The Month [Archive]
[originally posted - April 2010]
Loads and loads of mashups going around in the last 30 days and RJD2 has been the rhythm of choice for many-a-masher and rightly so – he’s a legend.
Our post featuring S-Tone’s mashup of RJD2′s Ghostwriter and Lil Wayne’s Stuntin’ Like My Daddy is still hot in terms of traffic and before it dies down we’ve just got our hands on another one.
This one, by Tone-E (are they related?), swaps Lil Wayne for Jurassic 5 and it does it extremely well or is it the RJD2 song that goes well with everything?
Regardless, great mashup.

Foster The Remix
A fair few people have remixed the addictive Californian pop outfit Foster The People so we thought it about time cherry pick some of the goodies (which are available to download for free) and all three are really strong.
