Monster Video Leak
A rough edit of the upcoming Monster video has just leaked on YouTube. Audio quality and some sync issues but it’s most of the footage from the video with all featured artists involved.
It’s definitely not gonna get any airplay on daytime television with all the dead naked ladies everywhere!
Not sure how long it will stay up.

What better way to do a round-up of than post our favourite remixes posted over the last 12 months.
After trawling through all the posts it’s amazing to see how much good music came out and we only posted a fraction of what was out there.

1. The xx – Crystalised (Neon Lights Remix) - download
Smooth, sleek and out of all of the xx remixes over the past year – this one takes the biscuit.

2. Gorillaz – Stylo (MAK Dubstep Bootleg Remix) – download
Unknown producer MAK dropped this remix to us during the hype of Plastic Beach and it’s got enough clout to be a commissioned piece of work.

3. Everything Everything – MY KZ YR BF (Clock Opera Remix) - download
Clock Opera switch the musical direction of the original and manage to retain EE’s own unique sound whilst still making it their own.

4. Wale – Good Girls (Andrew Clark and Quix Remix) - download
‘They’ve taken a pretty low-key Wale tune, added a host of new ingredients and it’s resulted in incredibly tasty track.’

5. Raheem DeVaughn – I Dont Care (DYMs Dubjam Remix) - download
DYM put out a lot of work in 2010 and during that time he transformed an R&B slow jam into a deep ‘dubstep’ experience – demonstrating much needed diversity. Bravo.

6. Mojib – Mayday Revisited with UNKLE and The Radio Dept – download
UNKLE’s pacey and bold original was ‘revisited’ by Swedish producer Mojib and turned into a beautiful lo-fi alternative track.

Rolling In The Deep
We haven’t had a mash-up on Mahogany for a while now and just from the title you can tell that this one was ambitious.
It’s got moments of brilliance and it hasn’t just been cellotaped together using Garageband, Voodoo Farm have put a good bit of production elbow grease behind this one.
At times it’s slightly cluttered but overall it’s a very good effort from the NYC collective.

Last time we heard a Labyrinth Ear remix it was their rework of the Alex Winston track and it was absolutely at the top of it’s game.
They’ve delivered the goods again, this time getting their musical paws all over Morning Parade’s latest single.
Solid and well paced throughout – will be getting the first play on the walk to the office tomorrow.

We’re back from our holiday break and David’s Lyre is first up for your ears.
David’s Lyre came to our attention via his collection of stripped back covers posted on his YouTube channel and since then loads of exciting things have happened for the young man.
Before the New Year however he promised fans that he’d release a new song everyday leading up to Christmas and he fulfilled that promise.
From renditions of Katy B to Elbow, to Cyndi Lauper and Tinie Tempah – the range is huge and some of them are rather tasty with two goodies below.

Ellie Goulding’s remix package for Starry Eyed was a real treat and featured a selection hand-picked producers from around the world. The blogosphere lapped them up like cats to cream and that’s how we first heard of Penguin Prison.
He’s been commissioned to sprinkle his funk and soul-tinged disco over the likes of Faithless, Kylie Minogue & Jack Penate but the remixes are not what Penguin Prison is entirely about however, not at all.
We fell in love with his solo work the minute we first heard it and got together with him before the Christmas holidays in London. This is by far one of our favourite artists to join us on the sessions and you’ll be hard pressed not to hear him in 2011.
