The Mahogany Sessions // Jim Jones Revue

Posted on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Mahogany Sessions ©

Jim Jones Revue invited us down to their studio in East London recently for a intimate studio session where they showcased two tracks from their latest album, Burning Your House Down.

We were all plugged into the mixing desk so the audio is absolutely phenomenal!

Shake, Rattle and Roll folks.

Monster!

Posted on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Rap/Hip-Hop

Most of you have probably heard this already but might not have been aware that it’s currently being given away (!) as a free download via rcrdlb so hurry up and grab that shit!

Each heavy-weight involved in this monster of a track doesn’t waste the opportunity and personally for us, Jay-Z and Nicki kill it.

Bon Iver involved is a big tasty cherry on top.

Too Heavy To Stand

Posted on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Dubstep, Electronica, Remixes, Video

DeLooze dropped the remix package from their latest single our way not long ago so we had a good listen through all of them and filtered what we considered to be the strongest of the pack.

Both remixes take the original to an entirely different place which is what they’re meant to do so job well done.

DeLooze – Too Heavy To Stand Up (Dark Sky Remix)download

Turning the clocks back a bit – Dark Sky flips this into an old school garage tune whilst introducing some core dubstep rhythms at the same time. Big.

DeLooze – Too Heavy To Stand Up (Ben Mono Dub Remix)download

Ben Mono’s effort begins with a back-to-basics beat and formulates into a full scale dub house anthem.

The Mahogany Sessions // Spark

Posted on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Mahogany Sessions ©

We’ve kept ourselves extremely busy this summer with the launch of the sessions and so far, it’s been emotional!

The latest session was with the London-based singer Spark whose is equipped with an amazing vocal skillset.

It’s early days in the career of this 18-year-old but keep a close eye out. We’re expecting some big things for her.

As The Stars Fall

We have a lovely pair of songs this evening from Paris-based As The Stars Fall.

Their focus is on the melodies from their instruments whilst leaving the only spoken word to come from movie sound-bites.

The first song features the wonderfully recognisable voice of Christopher Walken but we can’t figure out which movie it’s from. If anyone knows please do drop a comment.

Both are relaxing and atmospheric instrumentals which are well worth a listen and a download.

Afterglow (Akira Kiteshi Remix)

Posted on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Dubstep, Electronica, Remixes

This is without doubt one of the biggest remixes we’ve heard in a very, very long time.

Phaeleh’s smooth and laid back original is transformed into a monster of a beat. The soft female vocals are kept throughout which maintains it’s semi-commercial presence and opens it’s doors to more popular times on mainstream radio – which in turn is great for producer Akira Kiteshi.

Released on Chemical Records later this month – you can purchase this beast via the link below.
