As We Enter Remixed

Posted on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in Electro/Dance, Reggae & Dub

We haven’t featured old Georgie boy for a while, nor have we heard any decent remixes of the first single from the rap and reggae legends – so when he got in touch with a spanking new remix, we had a big smile on our face.

This one’s moving away from the filthy dubstep that he’s well known for and into something a bit more dancefloor.

Coming Soon…The Mahogany Sessions

Posted on Monday, June 14, 2010 in News

We’ve launched a ton of new editorial areas within Mahogany since our inception in Feb 2009 and we’ve grown to love all of them especially the Video Drive-Thru’s and Mahogany Minutes.

Now it’s time to introduce an extremely special new part of The Mahogany Blog as we look to expand our digital frontiers.

The Mahogany Sessions are our very own exclusive HD recordings of your favourite artists playing stripped back acoustic versions of your favourite songs.

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Natty is the first artist to feature on The Mahogany Sessions with two exclusive performances from his latest EP, Things I’ve Done.

Here’s a special introduction from the man himself.

Stay tuned for The Mahogany Sessions – coming soon!

Paper Swords

Posted on Monday, June 14, 2010 in Alternative

It’s been a while since we’ve had anything really really tranquil on Mahogany.

The wonderful Lanterns on the Lake were the last band we can remember so we welcomed Paper Swords with open arms this week.

Describing themselves as ‘orchestral folk-rock’, these Southern Californian quintet is just what we needed to calm out nerves  (and bets) during the World Cup group games.

Yuill Love This

Posted on Monday, June 14, 2010 in Electronica, Video

We saw James Yuill support Frank Musik at the Stables in Camden a few years back and it’s now crystal clear which artist has succeeded.

The Moshi Moshi artists second album is almost out and the video to the first single has just dropped and this may be the first album of the summer that we’re genuinely excited about.

Discussing genres is a tricky affair and it’s impossible nowadays to pin artists like Yuill down to a specific one. We’re just going to say it’s a brilliant single with splashes of credible pop magic throughout.
