Lanterns On The Lake
After a week off from work, I returned to an inbox of 1121 unread emails. Despite being in my early twenties, I could feel a stress related heart-attack approaching or much worse, I could completely lose it and require the skills Michael Clayton to fix the situation.
Just as I’m about to lose it, Hazel Wilde, lead singer of Lanterns on the Lake shares some of the beautiful music her and her fellow bandmates have created with the Mahogany team.
All is now calm.
I’ve yet to find out more information on the group from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne but right now I’m content with just listening to the three stunningly beautiful songs.
Lungs Quicken is due for release on 7th June and will be available via iTunes. For now you can enjoy a preview of it as well as two free downloads courtesy of the band.

Mystro
I’m not really an advocate of the mainstream UK rap scene. I don’t want to make any enemies by saying that but watching a music video from artists likes Chipmunk, Tinchie Stryder, Tinie Tempah and N-Dubz makes me wretch a little.
They define the word generic.
That said, there are UK rappers that I think trounce their US rivals and one of those such rappers is Mystro.
This man is smart and intelligent and those characteristics amongst others are channelled so purely into his music and lyrics. I was hoping to feature his latest video titled Round My Way but it’s been removed from Vimeo so instead here’s his 2009 ‘Rap Up’ song which I think is very special indeed.

What do you do when you haven’t got the time or budget to make a music video for your next single? Ask your fans to make one for you, of course!
That’s what Moby did and so often these things can bomb and the videos submitted never get further than a glimpse from management but that wasn’t the case at all for the fan video submitted for Moby’s latest single. Almost out of the blue this Nintendo-esque style music video gained viral notoriety and it was commissioned immediately.
It’s a sombre story but still the protagonist is sweet and cute and even if it looks like it’s on a Gameboy, you feel really bad for the bloke.
Definitely deserves a watch!
