SXSW Day 1 – Smirnoff Ice and Corona?!

Posted on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Electronica, Remixes

Just arrived in a (surprisingly) rainy Austin, 2 days before things really kick off and as I stroll down a busy 6th street, I can already compare the atmosphere to Shoreditch or Brick Lane on a Friday night.

I am however currently sitting next to grown men drinking Corona and Smirnoff Ice (together!) so my clichéd stereotypical expectation of “we’ve got whisky, whisky or whisky” have quickly been quashed however there is no shortage of Stetson shops.

The next few days will be jam packed with music and beer and although my luggage hasn’t arrived, my hotel has no Internet and I’ve yet to find any Alpen muesli – I’m still very much feeling like the title of Relation’s new single.

Last year we posted a great remix of their first single from their debut album Fear of Night and we always like to follow up with a band so now we have the next one.

Two remixes for your listening and downloading pleasure.

Also, leeching photos rather than downloading them and re-uploading them to you own server is the worst way to steal other people’s art. From a webmaster perspective it also could break the look and feel of your site if sources you are leeching from experience downtime or shutdown all together.

The photo above is mine, and would liked to have received credit/link for it.
