DYM Sum Anyone?
Looking back on the posts this January, it’s been awash with remixes. Loads of them. It must be some kind of New Years resolution for producers and bit when someone says they’re going to get fit.
DYM aka Damn You Mongolians has returned to the production seat and he’s churned out some keepers. Two of his own and two remixes – one of which is a Magistrates rendition that I’m particularly keen on and I’m still gutted they disbanded a few months ago.
Any and all focus is on DYM for this post. I like an artist/production who delivers regularly – it shows they’re hungry for exposure which can only lead to bigger and better things.
Judging by these promising productions, he’s a step in the right direction.
Drop The Bomb and Heartbreak are my favourites from this pile.

If It Ain’t Broke…
I absolutely love DC Breaks. They deliver a classic Drum and Bass remix everytime which is all I want.
DC Breaks is like a Kit-Kat – they’ve got a proven formula that works and a steady stream of business so there’s no need to diversify or drastically change. If anything, they’ve gotten chunkier in the past few years and sound even better!
Swedish Erik Hassle has been given the DC treatment and it’s given the song some credit.

Digital Field Day
In the blogging world we’re probably slightly late with these remixes but we’re not in a race to get them out to world before anyone else. I’ve taken my time with Ellie, I’ve listened to her songs and for pop music I like the productions on a lot of it. As for the remixes, it’s been a digital field day for producers around the world.
The remixes have been pouring in left, right and centre causing a massive stir on Hype Machine and other bloggregators and I really like all the remixes I’ve heard so far.

Editors – Feel Good Inc (Gorillaz cover)
With the Gorillaz album around the corner I thought I’d republish this Editors post that we did way back in March when we were only little.
I think this acoustic version does the song a lot of justice. Firstly because it’s so far from the original and also because I’m a massive fan of Tom’s dark and moody vocals. It’s also nice how they incorporated a bit of their own stuff at the end.

Good Girls
Andrew Clark and Quix have given Wale’s Good Girls the remix treatment and I’ve got to say I absolutely love it.
They’ve taken a pretty low-key Wale tune, added a host of new ingredients and it’s resulted in incredibly tasty track.

Why is it Wiley rarely shows up for his own music videos?
It’s a particularly well made video for what I consider to be his best commercial song to date.

Angus & Julia Stone
After watching the first 6 minutes of the Hollywood blockbuster Australia I wanted to dive head first out of my bedroom window. My window isn’t nearly high enough to kill me on impact, only cause an extreme amount of pain, which at that time was better than watching anymore of that ‘movie’. I needed something authentically Australian to make me smile and Angus & Julia Stone was the first thing I played.
These Australian siblings are a pretty low-key duo but they’re gradually rising and their new single And The Boys is really really good and it’s got a great video to go with it.
The whole album is delicate and peaceful and ideal for any train journey or sleep session – not that it’s boring, not at all – just very mellow.
Their album, A Book Like This, is well worth a closer inspection and here are two tracks from it.
