Tongue N’ Cheek

It’s been a good few days since the last TMB post – my stomach has been playing up big time and I’ve been trying to update ever since.
Anyway I got Dizzee Rascal’s album last night and as I began to listen to it I realised that although he’s gone down the Commercial Road, he definitely hasn’t sold out.
Firstly he started his own label, Dirtee Stank, and done it all by himself which has granted him the freedom he needs to do things his own way and secondly he’s collaborated with some major players. Namely Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys and Calvin Harris.
He’s managed to situate himself in the industry as a likable guy and someone who can be listened to by children or adults – rich or poor – black or white – EVERYONE!
So back to the album briefly. There are tracks on it that would never make their way onto radio yet the album still blends nicely and doesn’t come across as a patch-work quilt of rap and pop.
Below are two of my favourite tracks from the album – the first of which is produced by Shy Fx!
