Fink About It

I’ve always loved Fink – since I first heard his debut album back in 2005 I’ve been hooked on his sound, his voice and his outlook on music.
I’ve seen Fink live three times and as some of you may know – his music requires near complete silence because it’s so gentle. In most cases his music has shut the entire venue up but occasionally an industry packed event can rack up some serious chatting decibels. I hate it and I know Fink does as well. The cure to this is to stop the guestlist so it’s not a big social gathering.
I bring this up because he’s playing tonight at Cargo (in London) alongside live dubstep band Jazzsteppa and it’s free!
I just hope everyone shuts up.
Sort of Revolution, the title track to the third album has recently been released and features a remix by The Cinematic Orchestra. When I first heard it, I could barely notice any difference but then I realised how slight and subtle and beautiful it really was. I’ve played it back-to-back six times so far. Each time I pick up new sounds that I didn’t hear before.

when is fink going to make the big break through? he deserves it! great voice. but guitar could be more expressive maybe?
As expected the usual humdrum of chit chat from the non believers giving it the usual student union backing track… but not loud enough to drown out the melodic perfection of finion and co!
After a brief encounter with you in the queue and after the show in the bar it seems we have very similar musical taste, both with Fink and after reading your blog for the first time, Bon Iver!
Ill let you know any musical Gems that we encounter at Leeds Festival Bank Holiday weekend.
Happy Blogging!! P & P
