Mercury-nominated Alessi Laurent-Marke is making gentle waves with her peaceful sounds – she recently signed to EMI after her Myspace attracted a huge audience and we’re not far off from hearing for debut album.

Hailing from Hammersmith, London – Alessi left school at 16 to pursue her music career and with her parents backing she developed her subtle pop infused folky voice.

The track we’re focusing on here is Over The Hill which is to be the first single released on the 27th April. There are all kinds of sounds swirling in the song with hints of Joni Mitchell but at the same time sounds from today’s generation.

Alessi’s Ark fits perfectly into the type of artist Glastonbury or Bestival strive to book to bring the right friendly vibes to their fields.
